About the Food Pantry

Mission

The St. Olaf Food Pantry will provide an emergency food supply once every 30 days to any person or family in need of food.

The St. Olaf Food Pantry fulfills its mission by providing food for our friends and neighbors in need while treating them with dignity and respect during difficult times.

Operations and Funding

In a 2016 report released by Feeding America they state, “42 million people face hunger in the U.S. today —including nearly 13 million children and more than five million seniors”. In recent years, our local school districts enrolled over 400 homeless students; this clearly indicates there is a need for food and shelter programs here in the Williamsburg area.

At St. Olaf Food Pantry we have over 500 families in our database that we assist regularly. We provide food assistance for approximately 400 individuals and families each month. It is our goal to continually take positive action to meet the current and future demands of hunger in our area.

The St. Olaf Food Pantry is operated in accordance with standards set by the St. Olaf Food Pantry Committee. Staffing is provided by a team of volunteers. Operations are funded by donations from parishioners of St. Olaf Catholic Church, and supplemented by donations from local churches, individuals, and organizations.

Food Donations are accepted at the pantry Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. After hours donations may be left at the back of the Parish Hall by the inside pantry door marked Food Pantry. Monetary donations are accepted online at: https://stolaf-williamsburg.weshareonline.org/ws/opportunities/SocialMinistry
