Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. (CCC 1213)
Parent preparation for having their child baptized needs to be completed before the Baptism at St. Olaf Catholic Church or a neighboring parish. We offer the parent sessions 4 times a year, the third Wednesday of the month in January, April, July, and October. Please Fill out the Data for Baptismal Registration Form and contact the office at (757) 564-3819 to register for class.
Catholic Godparents are required to fill out a Godparent Attestation Form for Infant Baptism. Please see the link below to read the specific qualifications of a godparent.
The Baptism will be confirmed when paperwork is received at the parish, at least 2 weeks before the baptismal date.
St. Olaf Catholic Church schedules baptisms during Mass. Parish Mass times are Saturday 5:30 pm, Sunday 8:00 am and 10 am. If you require a Baptism outside of Mass times we will do our best to accommodate you.
